Fedor-able?!?

Amazing fan sign during last night’s Affliction show: “He’s Fedor-able!”

I can think of many adjectives to describe Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, but adorable isn’t the first one that comes to mind. I’m sure former UFC champ Tim Silvia agrees, after having his ass handed to him in the longest 36 seconds of his life.

In my less-than-humble opinion, Affliction has really come out swinging. They offered up a slick, well produced, dare I say “Pride-like” product that kicked the UFC’s ass eight ways to Sunday. There were a few minor hitches, like trying to figure out what to do when fighters get hung up in or pushed through the ropes and the idea of a live band, which I think was better in theory than in reality, but otherwise I’m sold.

I only got to catch the undercard, so I kind of hate you a lot right now. I'll try to channel it into good ol' fashioned sexual aggression, but I can't make any promises.

It sounds like Mike Whitehead put on his most eye-rapingly pathetic display since The Ultimate Fighter, and someone needs to rent them Bodyslam so they can learn the lessons Rock 'N' Wrestling gave to history, but these are paltry fumbles compared to just how much they've brought the gladiatorial anti-suck back to MMA in the states. Watching Sylvia get his expletive noun abverb verbed on YouTube will be better than sex with a professional contortionist. Just when you thought you couldn't possibly worship Fedor any more. It's like Santa finally got my last two letters.

I may've missed both US Pride shows, but I will be there for Fedor/Couture. Believe it.

He's Fedor-able, for sure!
I'll first begin by saying I consider myself a UFC fan not an MMA fan. But because there were so many ex-UFC fighters on the Affliction card it didn't take long for my husband to talk me into watching. I have to disagree that the Affliction event "kicked the UFC’s ass eight ways to Sunday" but the two fights that came on first were great and of course the main event was absolutely amazing. More amazing than any of Tim Sylvia's figts in the UFC! The ring was distracting (I felt the same about PRIDE), I definitely prefer the Octagon and the show did not feel organized. I also thought having the fighters come out before the show while Mega-whoever that was that played was very silly. I agree that the live band was definitely better in theory. Why did Buffer announce every single (and I use the term loosely) 'famous' person in the building. What a joke! What the heck was Don Johnson doing there AND why was he allowed in the ring with Fedor? That was probably the most ridiculous part of the evening for me.

In my opinion, UFC is still and will continue to be the leader in MMA events with the Affliction event being in a not so close second place. Thanks for sharing your opinion above, I think it was very well written.
