T.G.I. Monday

spicy
Last long weekend notwithstanding, Mondays are normally my day off. By day off I just mean the day that I force myself to do chores and laundry and grocery shopping and all the other stuff that I doesn’t get done while I’m pounding away here at the keyboard. I like having Mondays off because everyone else is back in their cubicle. Less of a crowd at the Laundromat.

In spite of the fact that I took the day off from actual writing, I still got some really critical work done on the final steps of the story. Thanks again to [info]nathan_long for listening to me go “… and then… and then… and then…” over green tea and muffins. Sometimes I just need to say shit out loud to figure out what’s wrong with it and what it needs to make it work.

Having done that, I am fairly certain of exactly how this book is going to wrap up. Now I just have to get there. At least I’ve got clean underwear.

Speaking of clean underwear, there is a very funny and curiously specific review of SNAKES up on Snakes-on-a-Blog. Plus I received a gift of a special limited cranberry red version of this SoaP T-shirt from Damnation-inc. I promised Snakes-on-a-Blog maven Brian Finkelstein that I would send him a photo of me wearing it and any other SNAKES related items of clothing that come my way. I will, as soon as I get someone to shoot it for me. Butch always puts his paw in front of the lens.

Hey Christa, if you use this link: http://www.snakesonablog.com/2006/07/10/snakes-on-a-novelization-review/ instead of the one above, you'll link to the whole review (and not just the bottom half).

I'm honestly shocked at the hype being generated around the movie. They either did a heck of a job with viral marketing it, or just hit the lucky button. I really, really hope (more than anything else) that the hype meter being broken has helped in book sales for you.

That would be a major benefit. Well that and hopefully the movie is worthy of its new found cult status.

Has anyone considered that this whole SNAKES hype thing may be the most brilliant marketing job since THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT?
